Thanks so much for this post Sho. I have a little story...

When I first moved from SF to NC I was staying with a high school friend of mine. She had two little girls and we had been running errands all afternoon. When the 4 year old started crying for food, I grabbed my bag and pulled out an orange and a bag of mixed, raw nuts. My friend scolded me to please not feed that to the children and she declined a handful of nuts herself saying: "Nuts are full of fat. We don't want to ruin our appetite. We're almost to McDonald's."

I kid you not!

I've seen a lot of people turn down avocados and nuts due to their fat content, but these same people eat junk food from fast food chains and gas stations when they're hungry and in a hurry.

I hope you'll be the new publicist for fat! It sure needs one.

:)

ps. fb account has been disabled due to too much posting. :) Am working it all out...won't be there for a bit.

EPA and DHA are unsaturated omega 3 fatty acids found in oily fish. Both EPA and DHA are highly beneficial for the body. Humans used to consume a lot more of these beneficial fats. Once we switched from whole foods to processed foods our consumption of these important fats was dramatically reduced. Thankfully, fat is making a comeback!

You explain about finding DHA in fish, what is EPA and is it also found in fish?

I have had many discussions with people about this also, given my love of butter and the reaction of "but you're skinny..." I don't eat a lot of sugar, or hydro.oils - life is too short to not make butter a staple of a healthy diet! It is a shame that many people still think that margarine and "no fat, low fat" foods are the answer to weight loss - when really those things will just make them heavier and unhealthier. Great blog post! I'm trying this recipe tonight :) I think you've been elected as fat's new publicist!
