getting to the fat of the matter

With so many people on the pursuit to lose weight, there are a lot of ideas out there about how to do it. Some work and some are downright loony. I’m not here today to talk about the best ways to lose weight, but there is one thing I want to get straight. Fat does not make you fat! The right kind of fat that is. Eating good fat also does not cause heart disease. Quite the contrary. Getting back to the discussion of reading labels, today I will discuss good fat vs. bad fat. We live in a fast-paced, go-go-go world where every second counts. Whether you are a parent juggling raising a family and having a career or an on-the-go business person, many people find themselves with little time to cook. People tend to grab the most convenient option from frozen dinners to instant boxed meals. Most such foods contain highly refined ingredients that have been stripped of their nutrients, and in many cases are actually toxic. getting back to the basics

In my world, holistic health is all around me, from organic restaurants and farmers markets to nature hikes and hot springs. I sometimes forget that many people are not exposed to a healthy lifestyle. This is not surprising considering the constant exposure to pharmaceutical and junk food ads and supermarkets carrying processed food and produce from thousands of miles away.
